CARGO ATLANTA RENTAL POLICIES
Welcome to Cargo Atlanta Rental Policy. By renting a vehicle through our platform, you agree to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined below. This policy ensures the safety of our renters, the protection of the rented vehicles, and a smooth rental experience for all.
Eligibility Requirements
To rent a cargo vehicle through our platform, you must meet the following criteria:
- Age: Renters must be at least 21 years old.
- Driver’s License: A valid, government-issued driver’s license that has been held for at least two years is required. Temporary licenses or learner’s permits are not accepted.
- International Driver's License: International travelers must provide both a valid driver's license from their home country and an International Driving Permit (IDP) if their license is not in English.
- Driving Record: Renters must have a clean driving record with no major traffic violations or excessive points (e.g., DUIs, reckless driving) that could indicate unsafe driving.
Identity Verification
Guests must complete an identity verification process, which may include:
- Providing a photo of their driver’s license.
- A selfie for verification purposes.
- Additional verification steps (such as providing a credit card in the guest’s name).
Verification helps confirm that the guest is who they claim to be, adding an extra layer of safety.
Reservation and Payment
- Renters are typically charged the full trip cost, including any fees and protection plan costs, when the reservation is confirmed.
- Additional fees may apply for any incidental charges incurred during the trip.
- Refundable deposits are required for the rental to cover any incidentals (eg extra miles, refuel, etc.) and refunded, typically within 1-2 days after trip end (possibly at dropoff if fuel receipt provided and shows full refill)
Discounts
- Early Bird – 5% applied if booking is made 7 days before the rental schedule.
- New Customer Rental - 10% of the trip cost.
- All discounts apply only to the trip cost (does not apply to extras such as insurance, deliveries, etc.)
Lead Time
- We require up to 2 hours to process and get the Van ready (For example, if a guest wants to rent at 1pm, they must make the reservation at 11am.)
- Lead Time for vehicle deliveries - we require up to 4 hours to process and get the Van ready.
Deposits
- Reservation deposit is the minimum of $50 or up to 10% of trip cost – Reserves the van, applied to the van rental. Subject to forfeiture if the guest does not show up within 1 hour after the rental start time. Exceptions may be made if sufficient notice is provided for changing the time & will be at the discretion of CargoAtlanta and is not guaranteed.
- $250 refundable deposit (subject to higher deposit for higher value rentals or insurance with higher deductibles); Used to cover refueling extra miles driven, damage/cleaning, excessive cleaning needed, evidence of smoking in the vehicle, etc. Deposit made upon checking / vehicle pickup.
- Deposit amount is released within 72 hours after the trip ends if there are no additional fees or damages.
Additional Fees
- Additional Driver Fee: Renters may add an extra driver for an additional fee per day. All additional drivers must meet Turo’s eligibility requirements and be approved on the platform.
- Excess Mileage Fee: Each rental has a set mileage limit. If renters exceed this limit, they will be charged an extra fee per mile over the limit.
- Fuel Refill Fee: Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at the start of the rental. If returned with less fuel, the renter will be charged a fuel refill fee plus an additional service fee (minimum of $6 per gallon or amount shown on rental agreement)
- Cleaning or Smoking Fee: If a vehicle is returned in a condition that requires more than normal cleaning (e.g., pet hair, smoke odor, or excessive dirt), a cleaning fee may apply (minimum of:
- up to $250 or
- actual cleaning, professional cleaning is required.
Damage and Incident Fees
- Damage Fee: Renters are financially responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle during the rental. If damage is reported, a fee based on the extent of the damage and the renter’s protection plan will be assessed.
- Roadside Assistance Fee: If renters request roadside assistance for issues like towing, tire changes, or jump-starts not covered under their protection plan, they may incur additional fees.
- Toll, Ticket, and Violation Fees: Any tolls, parking tickets, or traffic violations incurred during the rental are the responsibility of the renter. Cargoatlanta may charge a service fee on top of the cost of the ticket or toll of minimum of $5 or 10% of ticket / toll cost.
Currency and Conversion Fees
- Cargo Atlanta charges in USD currency specified on the website. For international travelers, this may result in foreign transaction fees from their bank.
- Exchange rates or conversion fees are determined by the renter's financial institution.
Refunds and Cancellations
- Refunds less the reservation deposit are typically issued if renters cancel or does not arrive in time for rental check-in
- Refunds are typically processed back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on the financial institution.
Minimum Rental Hours
- 3 Hours minimum.
- Can return vehicle before 3 hours but will still be charged for 3 hours.

Note: Add a deluxe package which includes the miles from the last package plus no need to refill the gas or Add no refill gas to each package for $75.
Delivery Policy
- Under 2 Miles - $60 ($30 for delivery, $30 for pick up of the Van).
- Between 2–5 Miles - $85 ($55 for delivery, $30 for pick up).
- Between 5-15 Miles - $125.
- Over 15 Miles will incur an additional fee based on the location.
Smoking and Pet Policies
- No smoking in the vehicles is allowed. A cleaning fee will be applied for any smoke odor detected in the vehicle.
- Pets may be allowed, but renters must request approval beforehand and ensure the vehicle is returned in good condition. Subject to a pet fee of $10 per day.

Full coverage insurance is required (At least minimum state liability, comprehensive and collision) and will be verified before on at check-in. We do offer insurance to be purchased if you prefer or need the insurance.
